Fernando Tuesta Soldevilla (Peru) received his
Sociology degree from the Peruvian Pontificia Universidad Católica
and completed his PhD in Political Sciences at the Heidelberg University
(Germany). He was researcher at Desco, Cedys and Ciup and lecturer at
the Universidad Católica, Universidad Pacífico and the Academia
Diplomática of Peru. He is the author of No Sabe/No Opina (Encuestas
políticas y medios), Los enigmas del poder (Fujimori 1990-1996),
Simposio sobre Reforma Electoral, Rol y funciones del Parlamento, El sistema
de partidos políticos en Perú (1978-1995), Perú político
en cifras: elite política y elecciones, Campañas electorales
y medios de comunicación en América latina. He is professor
at the Universidad de Lima and political and communication consultant.
He is regular columnist in several newspapers. He is Director of the National
Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) in charge of the presidential elections
of April 8, 2001.
